So I've been thinking a bit about Bunny and the Velveteen Rabbit set up. Yes, this update seems to imply there's no coming back for Bunny. Her G-String completely unraveled due to the GMTTA's Baddie spell, and in this update Huey says, "Bunny had died hard, harder than Casear knew a person could die. Closer words in Language might be: nullified, dismantled, overwritten, rubbed out." Between the String Thing and the Bats having consumed (at least most of) her corpse, there does indeed seem like there's a Fashion Bunny Doll hanging around with no potential story payoff.

There is, but we not see it yet. After all, this story is rife with unexpected turns and twists.

A logical payoff would have something to do with the phenomenon of Living Dolls. Both Wanda and now Maggie (the Magionette) have been involved with them. Isaac tried to survive in a Living Doll version of the action figure.

Spoiler: show
Quoting neko: But what if -(speculation)- there was a friendly Thinkamancer in the neighborhood who had perhaps bent her mind orthogonally, and was now also a Date-a-mancer? Bunny's G-string and body are destroyed past Decryptability. But H-strings are different that G-strings, and just as powerful. H-strings are feelings. They connect hearts, not heads. H-strings are Date-a-mancy. They carry emotional data.

I posit that the Baddie spell may have trashed Bunny's G-string, but left her H-string fully intact. Mostly b/c the GMTTA were arrogant and blind to the possibility that there could be any other kind of String as powerful as the G-string. And ...

I don't think Bill's work was Checkov's anything. It was supposed to be Bill's final act of goodness in Transilvito before everything dogpiled. Bunny ain't just dead, she's deader than dead. Infact, since all the bats ate her corpse, that makes her deader than deader than dead. Any heart string-socket her body once had is gone.
This is all just one big tragic clusterfuck since everyone's been lying to TV.

Totally agree. It’s one thing to say it wasn’t foreshadowed enough to suit a person’s preferences, but another thing entirely to claim there wasn’t any foreshadowing at all (or worse, the tired deus ex machina claim, which is actually a pejorative the vast majority of the time).
    I'll third this.

I understand why people are upset, but I believe they're too focused on the present. It's just like when Big Think obliterated Tondy's hit squad: a lot of people reacted to what was in front of them; I said pineapple was Fate/meddling-GM overcompensating to punish an unruly player and Big Think wouldn't last a turn. This is no different. I already said what I believed this was a natural story progression of earlier, so here's where it may be leading.

When Jed was first awoken a lot of things got foreshadowed. I've seen the bold faced parts repeated here and, I'm too lazy to see if I was ninja-ed so have mercy when I say I haven't seen anyone mention what Parson said a little after that.

He thought about the Signamancy of that. What did he remember? Something about the islanders depleting their resources to build the heads, then dying out.

I don't recognize the idol for Jillian, but the other three are all associated with some form of human sacrifice or self-destruction, either in history or fiction. We've seen that they can steal Juice or pay Schmuckers for Juice. It's likely they always had the ability to allocate Juice at will but it was sort of on autopilot while the Temples were offline. My guess is the Source is infinitely refilling but not limitless on a single turn.

Jed or Huehue stealing what they did from it may not have been an issue, but when all the Temples see each other as cheating and start stealing all at once, whose attention might that draw? We've certainly seen how fast the Temples turn to cheating when they feel victimized by cheating. How far will it go? What happens if the well of the Source gets emptied and someone tries to draw more? Would we see units obliterated to free up Schmuckers to turn back into Juice?

Escalation is what's been happening in this comic since Parson started breaking the world. Big Think figured out that it was a mistake fighting fire [Charlie's cheats] with fire [Parson's] then pineapples Big Dumb Ass went and dropped napalm on every active side. We're entering the next book with the world fundamentally more broken.

Marie foreshadowed that the Temples were something the Titans shut off long ago when she met Templeton. I suspect we're going to see the reason for that. I also suspect the reason is because they made the game unplayable by making themselves too central. It may even result in unlikely alliances to shut the Temples back down again.

Well, yeah - they're tutelaries, after all, and the tutorial had to end at some point.

(Yes, I know they're different words. The deep entymology [in Erfworld, Signamancy] is related.)

Erfworld is going to end when the Source itself awakens and gains sentience. It will bring every lasting harmony with it. The end.

The Jed Eyes will be like "May the Source be with you" and the source will respond "Naw, ima chill down here at the center of everything instead."
