The rules linked do allow for Infantry to use Fabricated things

That's helpful.

Fabrication is interesting. It looks like it can duplicate an ability or help increase a stat. Is that accurate?

In addition, it doesn't say anything about the limits on how many items units can have on them (though I figure it would be no more than one per "slot"). Has that been examined before?

I would expect that dollamancers could mimic abilities (for a decent price in materials, why they like hat magicians), but probably not the average unit with fabrication. After all, limited dollamancy has to have somthing it can do, and I doubt a limited mancy is sufficient for golem creation.

It will only increase a stat. I'm ruling one item per stat, including hits.

Cool. And reasonable, as well.

Those were already the fabrication rules <_< (though the 1per unit for non-hit stats was implied rather than stated)

Just wondering about the warlord: how do we go about creating him? Or is that something you'll do on your own?

I'll make the random rolls.

We'll be starting tomorrow. Once I've gotten Hexographer to work.

How many players/sides are there?

Currently four. If one more person sends one they'll get in.

Since there's four players already, what about having some various NPC/Hostile sides (elves, goblins, and others)?

If you take a look at Kaed's Erfgame 3 thread, you'll note the players discussing combat before any of them actually find one another. Since this game is a derivative of his, except where stated otherwise we can probably expect similar mechanics.

There is also the question of getting early leadership on the field so you can negotiate with natural allies without the need to expose your ruler to a possible attack. If you didn't buy leadership for a special unit, you'll want to prioritize at least one warlord, potentially even ahead of city improvement (by promoting a knight).

I'd like to throw my hat into the ring!

I've been re-reading the books, and been thinking "Titans, I'd love to play an actual game of Erfworld." Visited the forums for the first time, and lo, I'm not the only one!

Anyway, I registered for this post, am swiftly digesting the rules, and have almost finished creating a side (which I'll PM through to WhirdCheese on completion - should be later today). If there's room in this game I'd love to join. :)

Welcome to the forums Akiata! Now we have a full five people, that's four people for each of us to scheme with and against! Let the Dirtamancy hit the Turnamancy powered rotating blades!

Thanks Taikei!

Ok, I've finally finished generating my side, and have PM'ed it to WhirdCheese.

Think I might re-read some more Erf for tactical insipration. :D

So, does this mean that we should be starting up here soon? Assuming Akiata got their side done up all proper.

Just trying to get hexographer to work properly.

What problems are you having with it?

From what I saw of the free version, it is worthless at making mountains, and they should probably be added by hand after the initial generation is run.

Is it an offsite map that we'll be using?

Author:  WhirdCheese [ Tue Jul 02, 2013 1:18 am ]
Post subject:  Re: Changing ERF

Nope, I'll be the only one with access to the entire map.

I gather that Whird will share the discovered portions of a given player's map as they explore.

At least, that's what I've picked up from browsing some of the other game threads.
