In hex 2336 16 Picos were looking around and keeping an eye on the force around the lake. The force from the lake took off and flew away and from the east came another force. 3 stacks riding their mounts with Awks and Hobgobwins approached. The Picos formed one full stack and 7 screening stacks trying to buy the full stack more than one hit.

In the first round the attackers hit 3 decoy stacks but their defense was too high and the Picos did not do enough damage. The second round Roget's forces got past the screen and hit the full stack. After that it was just a quick mop up.

After 3 rounds all defenders were croaked and the attackers took 3% damage.

I will run the larger combat in a few hours after I land.

Roget's Warlord came in with a full 64 unit stack again. This time there were not 8 full flyer stacks it was a mix of units. Upon entered he was surprised at the forces. It seemed he had not expected the withdrawing attackers to have been reinforced. Nevertheless, he pushed his Awks, Rouge Knights, Twicewadwagons and Hard Rouge Knights to attack.

The combat was tough and Roget had many ranged units that each side worked to take advantage of. Sometimes the Alliance Stabbers hit the Ranged, and sometimes the Ranged found stacks of Pikers to hit. After the third round the Alliance finally got a stack advantage having taking out a ranged stack and then they pushed hard into the attackers. By the fifth round 3 full stacks of Rogets forces had been croaked and they withdrew on their mounts.

The attackers had taken 43% damage and the defenders had taken 32%.

    The Alliance losses are:

    8 Grunts
    4 Dry Bones
    1 Witch Knight
    1 Hawkman
    1 Skulker, 2 Suits
    4 Pikers, 1 Gnoroad
    2 Brutes

Dave, question re: ZOC. Can we still move through enemy ZOC if there is a friendly unit in the destination hex? Or only if there's an enemy unit?

Good question - the answer is yes, you can.

You can move from a hex adjacent to an enemy force to another hex adjacent to an enemy force IF the destination hex contains an enemy OR a friendly force.

Then we perhaps need a better means of coordinating battle plans. Anyone have suggestions?

Also, Dave, could we, for this game, allow allied units to stack with each other? As we take casualties, we're kinda losing the ability to form stacks from just one side's units. Alternately, could we just do an Aiur shuffle, and consistently just turn units to whichever side's convenient for stacking?

The pad's fine for me, as long as we don't let it get too full. But that's probably the fault of my weaksauce notebook. XD

I am happy to allow allied units to stack together for the remainder of the game. You make a good argument.

Also, I find the pad a lot better now that a lot of things have been deleted. It gets temperamental as it gets overloaded.
