So, according to a news story today, they just recovered a pair of Ruby Slipeprs that Judy Garland wore in the Wizard of Oz, which were stolen from the Judy Garland Museum in Minnesota 13 years ago.

Here's the story:
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/09/04/us/dorothys-ruby-slippers-stolen.html

So, I never realized that:
a) there were other pairs out there besides the ones in the Smithsonian (which would be very hard for a banished Parson, or whoever, to recover). Apparently, including these and the ones in the Smithsonian, there are 4 pairs of "real" ruby slippers from the movie known to exist.
b)that they had ever been stolen at all.

Here's the relevant part of the story:
The New York Times wrote:
Thirteen years ago, the famed red-sequined heels from “The Wizard of Oz” were mysteriously stolen from the Judy Garland Museum in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. With no fingerprints or security camera footage, police were left with few clues as to who broke through an entrance out back and smashed the plexiglass box holding the shoes. The only thing left behind: a lone red sequin.

I mean, "the" Ruby slippers, mysteriously stolen from the display case, leaving no trace of who or what took them? Only to be rediscovered 13 years later with no leads as to the suspects? Like, by magic?

This feels to me 100% like something that would happen in-story, to get the Arkenshoes back into play...

just got mentioned in class today, (screenwriting class). My too-close-to-be-coincidence sense is tingling.

So is it just coincidence that they were stolen a mere one year before Erfworld began in 2006?

    Doubtful.
