Re: all the maps I love the work you guys are putting in to this. It's amazing how much you can do with a few random coordinates and a perspective-skewed portion of a map. The map we're all looking at isn't perfect, though. It's an amalgamation of the perceptions and memories and opinions of everyon... |

1. The exception for "the good of the side" is pretty broad, and the disbanding on orders rule is a function of Loyalty...you receive an order, and if you disobey your Loyalty (natural thinkamancy) disbands you. This is the solution I'll wager Rob prefers. ] This.Is.Just.Brilliant. And it... |

@Whole "Does Charlie lie discussion": What Charlie says can't be taken at face value. Period. [/i] That seems to be the best summary of the situation. He may not lie , but he certainly deceives . He uses the truth to lead people to untrue conclusions. And only in the rarest of cirumstance... |

Obviously Albert has some strong Transylvitan signamancy. And more than that, he seems to have a Transylvitan personality and attributes as well (flying?!). Transylvitan influence here is obvious. I never even considered Vinny in that. My mind went straight to Don. It was his idea for FAQ to pop an... |

Parson is not an heir, and yet could have started his own side at Spacerock, had he not had a bunch of other Gobwin Knob units in the garrison as well. I forgot about that. So Digdug wouldn't have to be an heir in order to restart Homekey or begin a new side... all he'd need is an otherwise empty f... |

It could simply be the case that the meat makes for a tasty soup... The soup maker appreciates having a better tasting soup(along with the others), and thus is willing to "pay" a little extra to have the meat. The flavor of food seems like it would be a form of natural signamancy. And may... |

This episode really illustrates the destitution of the carnies. They're so persistently skirting the edge of not paying upkeep that a piece of their culture is based around reducing upkeep as much as possible. What's worse, I imagine, is that this is not a normal arrangement. Unless barbarian caster... |

For the same reason it is probably rare for a Croakamancer to escape the end of her side. A barbarian croakamancer would certainly be a terrifying prospect, though. Find a good hex to call home, then start making guerilla attacks against targets of opportunity to both maintain yourself with the spo... |

Might also explain why there are so few Croakamancers compared to the groups we have seen so far. We've seen groups of Predictamancers, Thinkamancers, and Carnies, so we can presume they have some means of getting their upkeep covered. Croakamancers......not so much. Luckamancers (now that someone ... |

I wouldn't be surprised if there were an inordinate number of carnies and predictamancers who take the long walk. Predictamancy is supposed to be bad luck, and carnies have a bad reputation pretty much everywhere. Thus, it makes sense that those casters would have a harder time finding work (and mig... |

So it sounds like we're ruling out any sort of stagemancy as an explanation for this update? Boop it, I'm putting all my rands on this being stagemancy. Or at the very least, a very complicated and twisty "think like a carnymancer" sort of plan. I've speculated in the past that a carny sho... |

Do we know if a king can disband himself? I can see Posbrake trying something like that, now that he's effectively captured. Disband himself and let rulership go to the heir*, thus denying Delkey their very valuable hostage and throwing several plans into chaos. Which heir? Whichever unit is carnyma... |

Umm, I just went laptop shopping across a variety of stores only a month ago...I didn't see a single laptop keyboard that was missing the Home key. It's waaaay too useful a key to drop. And that's why they were pushing for an heir to be popped. But how now to have someone else take over a side without destroying it? Or is this the end of the story, the main point of it having been played out? Carnymancy could probably be used to temporarily bestow a unit with the qualities of an h... |

We don't seem to know a whole lot about the details of the contract, but the bits and pieces we've seen indicate that Posbrake's main concern is over units. And there's a provision about Charlie not conquering the city. But what do we know about damaging the city? What if the archons, using the pret... |

And a Signamancer would probably be the opposite of a Carny. I could see it being the case that signamancers are just as tricksy and untrustworthy as carnies. If a carny needs to have masterful knowledge of rules in order to break them, then a signamancer would need similar knowledge of loopholes, ... |

I doubt carnymancers can break contracts in general. Charlie + arkendish + tri-link might be an exception to that. It's also possible that even if you can break a contract (which is dubious), it's harder to break a bigger contract than a smaller one. A contract for 1,000 shmuckers might be exponent... |
