You can try and burn a mountain, you will fail

We live in the mountains. No need to burn them down, we will simply conquer them and build new cities upon the ruins of others.

I, on the other hand, am taking a lesson from Russia:
Sustained invasions of the tundra are difficult.

I was very much considering going desert based for that exact reason. Though I'm sure the flying dog people wouldn't have much of a problem with that with their triple digit move speed and everything.

Location: When you reach the border of hell, turn right. Can't miss me.
So after much deliberation, I decided to be a total masochist and chose to run the game with 5 players. It wasn't an easy decision because I liked every Side that applied, but I had to cut it off at some point or else it'd just be a bad experience for everyone. On a side note, I'm going over my initial limit of 4 because I expect at least one of you to flake out, though I hope I'm wrong.

So without further ado, these are the players:
    ETheBoyce
    Kaed
    RandomWombat
    Taikei no Yuurei
    WhirdCheese

I want to thank the others that applied or PM'd me with their interest. Please stick around in case a slot opens up in the future.

For those of you in the game, expect PMs from me shortly with your first turns. Let the bloodbath begin!

Just for the record I was about to open up my own game. The opening post is currently saved as a draft, so if I have time I'll post it. I assumed that I wasn't getting picked due to the volume of people who applied. If I have time for both I'll it start up.

Whelp, you might as well all disband yourself now, I'm in.

It's either that or be annexed.

Eh... If word of your side's name ever gets to Maximillian he'll probably stop attacking you and worship you.

    EDIT: First Turn is in.

I admit I'm kind of excited, con concerned - the first few turns in my game went pretty fast, and now we've stalled. I hope someone is just slow or sir shadow is busy, because getting overwhelmed this early...

Might have been me holding things up. My schedule is a bit out of sync with everyone else's I think. I got most of my turn in this morning, and likely was at a point where the turn could have advanced and a small thing or two could have been retconned in fairly easily, but I believe I'm at 100% complete for my turn.

Edit: And he has been very good about replying quickly to basically all my stuff, so it is either me or someone else holding things up as opposed to Shadow being overwhelmed I think.

Edit2: That said, it might be possible (though possibly overly confusing) for Shadow to allow people to do the first 5ish turns at their own pace as we're fairly unlikely to run into each other that quickly unless one of us sends a scout out in one direction for several turns or we're painfully close to each other.

My first turn is only just finishing, because I've been scouting the immediate area. I should be ending it my next move unless something happens.

You all are so inefficient! I had my stuff done in two posts, with time for characterization.

Where is my characterization mister shadow. I want my character fluff. >:C

I did basically my entire turn in 2 posts, then was just having a bit of back and forth questions and such, but should have been able to advance at that point.

Oh, and what is the experience system? Like how much does it take to level, roughly how much does combat gain you, etc?

It starts low and increases exponentially. Your first two levels will come easily - level 3-4 warlords will be a standard early game for anyone actually fighting, but it slows down to a crawl after. Actual stat progression is linear though.

I prefer to take things one step at a time, personally. Three posts at the moment, plus one more will make four.

And given they're constructs, my side is unlikely to have much characterization until later on, should they survive long enough.
