how about 50x50, 500 point, generic space? enough room to manuver, low enough points to start figuring out the game?

    Works for me.

    So we have to keep track of how much every ship is worth, correct.

    I'll see if I can get a good grasp on the creation rules and build a fleet.

    I'm not too great at making hexagon maps. I prefer square maps. Though, if you make it so every other column is lined up a certain way, you can make it ACT like hexagons... I have one thats 5 on a side, but it's a bit big, I'd need to figure out how to shrink it down to a reasonable size.
