Guess it's not a good idea to eat the fruit of the poisoned tree, after all.

Jack would be impressed. By threatening that she wouldn't make it out, Haffaton made Jillian focus on escape, making her movement more predictable and misdirecting her from the poisoned food.

It'd better be poisoned, as opposed to the effect of a spell. If a spell can survive the loss of a city and change of ownership to the conquering side, then nobody would guard their minor cities, they'd just leave something tricky and deadly for whoever conquers it.

This. Poisoned provisions. Really nasty trap for any invaders. I'm surprised Jillian didn't know about it. You'd think at least one side would have had that happen to them. Maybe another negative side-effect of being a bubble kingdom?

    Also, creepy doll spy.

Well, that raises the question of how can the city be FAQ's, when there are still enemy units (golems?) in it.

Also, yeah, everyone in the forum saw it coming, Jillian should have seen it coming too. seriously. Wanda knew that Hippiemancy dealt with poisons, way back when she was recently popped. Faq has a boatload of casters, many of whom do nothing but discuss magic all day. At least one should know about the fact that hippiemancy = poison. Haffaton is famous for it's Hippiemancy ability. It's like adding two and two, for pete's sake.

Edit: so i wonder if "everyone" includes Jillian. Did they all die, or just fell asleep for a turn or two? Or did Jillian survive?

Poison seems pretty overpowered. Surely theere should be a saving throw, or something?

Yeah I surprised about "not one" waking up. We know Jillian survives, so is she included in the everyone? If so, then they must survive. I suspect the poison is actually a sleeping drug, and Haffaton is gonna capture them.
In that case though, it doesn't make much sense to scare them into running from the city :/
Actually, I can answer my own question. I presume that Wanda was able to see their stats when she used the Doll's eyes, so she knows their Move. If she scares them into running, she know that they'll use up all their Move going in a straight line, which significantly narrows down the hexes that her forces will have to look for them.

On first read I thought the implication is that Jillian, because she was upset, did not eat any of the looted food while brooding by herself, thus she alone lived to see the next day. Perhaps the "not one in the company awakened" also indicates that Jillian didn't sleep at all.

Going back and re-reading, it's not that clear, I guess. They could all be sleeping...?

I think there is a distinction between the company and the commander. It says that "they" sat around Jillian and ate the food, not that Jillian ate any food. I could be wrong, but I doubt Jillian has been affected by the spell/poison.

Did anyone notice that Bart has a navel? Hasn't it been an open question as to whether or not Erfworlders have them, especially since the Maggie/Wanda/Sizemore linkup?

So it was trapped. Looks like was wrong about that.

That doesn't necessarily negate all my arguments, however. By the same line of reasoning as my post in 37's thread, it is probably safe to assume that all of Haffaton's cities are trapped.

That's a really good idea for Haffaton to put about. Wouldn't need to be all; warfare and deceeption, eh.

I like the way the Barts hand covers Jillian's arse in the graphic, comedy and irony at the same time. The Hays code lives on!

I didn't mind Kingsworld at all, but I do not like the spy golem thing nor the active 'get busy' spell still in place after the city shifted sides.

The poisoned food is fair game, I guess, but:

If left rations can be poisoned, and if spies/losing sides active stuff is still active/spying when a city changes hands, then I would think this would be common knowledge, and then it seems to me that NO ONE WOULD EAT RATIONS FROM A LOSING SIDE and would know to look out for things like weird spooky eyed mannequins and spies and left over active threats.

Also, clothesrack heard Jillian say 'Faq' and Bart say 'Jillian'. Oops.
