Not badger, groundhog--Puxatawney Phil. (So is the elder holding him just a puppet?)

The trio are a riff on the Fates of some sort.

I almost feel sorry for Janis. Almost. She didn't think this through very well, did she?

Panel 7 is Johnny Carson who used to play Carnac the Magnificent http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnac_the_Magnificent. He would hold an envelope to his head. Say the punchline, then while he was opening it, Ed McMahon would repeat the line. Then Carson would read the joke. Very long running gag. I have no idea who is standing in front of him.

    edit: corrected panel #, typo

The three chicks in panel eight, I believe, are the Weird Sisters. Specifically I recognized them from the Gargoyles show.

The guy in the suit might be Ray Kurzweil - the face is right but the hair style is wrong. See here:

Panel 7 needs a hermetically sealed mayonnaise jar.

Yay update! But I'm glad you guys are here because I have no idea who any of those cameos are.

Definitely a fun update, not seeing much to "debate/theorize" on, but its a big revelation. I'm also looking forward to perhaps getting a better look at Predictamancy in action so as to understand what kind of spells they might use.

The Weird Sisters from Gargoyles are they themselves a riff on the Fates, who are probably one of the oldest expys of the Triple Goddess archetype. I don't know who the grumpy dude they're pushing along is though.

I'm less curious about the references and more about the implications of these Predictamancers coming to Marie's aid. Are they also aware of whatever she prophesied about Parson and willing to defend him based on that, or is it just that they're coming to the aid of a fellow Predictamancer in need?

Soothsayer from the 1400s, British, http://www.nndb.com/people/287/000101981/ . I can go with that.

I wonder if the other predictomancers will bring other casters with them, casters that will help out Parson, like a shockamancer or something.

Poor Sizemore. His precious Magic Kingdom is erupting in civil war thanks to his own actions. That has to hurt.

Heh, I love the flat look Parson and Marie are giving Jannis in the 11th panel.

Can the Thinkamancers not enter the tunnel for some reason? Why haven't they decided that they will obviously need to resort to force?
