Hmm it'll be weird if they do leave without a fight. Assuming they retreat to the old capital and live to fight another day they'll still have to contend with the archons eventually. The archons are still as helpless now as they will ever be, and the tower defenses aren't going to be any good to them after they flee. It seems like it might be wise to at least toss everything they have at the archons before they leave if they do go for the retreat. Mebbe not leave by air, but at least cut down a few of them, get paid for doing it, and deny GK the use of the unspent tower defenses.

Yes, I also prefer to interpret this update as "can't kill Ossomer because we know and love him."

    Well, kinda, but that permanency also suggests there should be more to the actual caster. Any side can own and use hats (and many do) without requiring a hat magician around. Classic game balancing demands (for good reason) that no class's abilities be fully transferable by item; there's gotta be something the caster can do that a stabber who bought every available magic hat could not.

    Lets see, life, motion, matter, on the erf axis... that could be just about anything!

    I wonder if it will be something playing off of how wearing hats can be metaphor for filling specific roles... i.e. when the siege starts he whips out a hardhat and starts ordering units around fortifying the walls... when the walls are breached he pulls out a viking helmet and starts dusting GK units... when the situation turns hopeless he puts on a ninja mask and is next seen in TMK, and Scarlet is found as a pile of dust with a katana sticking out of the ground and a severed black rose nearby.

    Actually i was referencing the story he was based on, in which removing his hat just kept revealing another one.

    Trying to find an image of one of the random dc or marvel magic heroes reaching in one hat and out the other someplace else. I'm thinking that hat magic is your teleportation school, at least on the small scale...
