In case anyone is looking for a well written horror comic let me suggest: The Walking Dead.

Writer: Kirkman
B/W Illustrations

Plot: Set 2 months after a zombie epidemic (slow, classic Romero zombies), the book chronicles the trials and tribulations of a small town rural Kentucky sheriff as he awakens from a coma and works his way back to his family and attempts to survive in a world gone to chaos. Ongoing.

Warning: Various harsh language, gruesome images, graphic violence and occasional nudity

I read the first trade of this, but never really got into it. Something about the character interactions just failed to grab me. A shame, because I'm a fan of zombies.

I quite like it. There's some terrible stereotypes, and Kirkman has the annoying habit of bolding every other word like this at times, but otherwise it's good stuff. He's not afraid to kill off characters, there's a minimum of stupid horror cliches ("Let's all split up!") and the process of survival and scavenging is quite well done.
