so anyone notice the use of the name lord Ace hardware, here? as in the hardware store? the place you go to buy TOOLS? like as in, a pair of pliers? or a hammer? perhaps even an antenna dish? and here we have an unusual caster with unusual ideas on how to use his creativity. perhaps a possible arkentool in the making?

I think this might be a telling update about how clueless Erf leaders typically are about the true capabilities of their casters. All these different types of casters, itching to do cool stuff in the service of their side, and yet forced to carry on doing the banal stuff that worked before because their leaders are too conservative to give them free rein. OK, maybe it's just Jetstone that's like this, but I suspect most sides suffer from it to some degree.

Glenn wrote: If Ace is an unusual caster, that may be because he wasn't originally intended to be a caster. He thinks he popped as a Dollamancer because Jetstone's former Dollamancer got killed, and "Jetstone was Fated to have a Dollamancer". Maybe whatever process creates Units started to create Ace as a normal Jetstone Warlord, and then when it suddenly needed to supply Jetstone with a new Dollamancer, modified his design to make him a Dollamancer. So he has the physical strength and personality of a Jetstone Warlord, and the talents of a Dollamancer. Which would seem to make him much better qualified to wield the Arkenhammer than Stanley. Maybe it's because he was popped in Drystone. It's a place Ossomer likes, and according to him it pops "Erfworld's finest soldiers". Maybe the units form there get a size and strength bonus. And have more fighting spirit than the average unit.

I think we have here a good candidate for our first caster decrypting.

"What's the turd guy doing here?" - What Stanley said when he found Parson consulting with Sizemore. It's not just Jetstone.

warlords as a rule don't really look into what their casters magics actually do, so they generally ignore what isn't normally demonstrated or shown via precedent to be possible... only Parson and to a lesser degree Charlie seem to really care what magic does and why.

Poor Bartholomew Cubbins, always the lacky. I hope he turns out to be a Stickymancer as qwll as a Hatamancer.

Well, almost. You need to have a trimancer link with Ace and Cubbins for this. But they might just be able to do it.

Ace's hairstyle sorta reminds me of Guile's from Street Fighter. Wonder if he'll make a weapon capable of sonic booms?

Snowtitan wrote: I'm Sorry, am I the only one who thinks Ace is arrogant, Really my vote is for Ace to die horribly in the opening salvo Nah, I think that's pretty likely. His personality pretty much screams Leeroy Jenkins. I think everyone is just giddy with the possibility of Parson getting his hands on someone like Ace. Giving Parson access to magitech engineering would be like typing IDKFA into Erfworld. The possibilities are frightening and would require another major readjustment of enemy power to match Parson + Wanda + Hardware. (Aside: I can't believe it took me until the punchline to get where he was going with "Ace" as a name. I groaned.)
