Dr Ian looks at his project with a satisfied smile and crossed arms. "Well, that should do for a start." Glancing down at Ketam and the resources he's gathered, the doctor raises an eyebrow. "Well, I suppose I'll need to expand a bit if I want room to get my work done properly here. I'll get back to work, you go gather more of the same."

Spoiler: show
Dr IM: Build Pens
Ketam: Gather Fungiwood from Forest B

Mad Malcom cackles as he wipes the sweat from his brow, looking at the assembled pens. "Well Dexter, let's find you some friends!"

    Spoiler: show
Mad Malcom and Dexter both search for new batopod and bring it back to the pens for Dexter to begin mating if possible.

    Progenitor: Rabbit (Fertility and Dodge)
    Resources:
    25 fungiwood
    25 Scrap Metal
    Batopods:
    Buildings:
    1 x Pen (10 Batopods)

    Spoiler: show
I think I should have 25 fungiwood left from turn 1, and 25 metal from turn 2. Then I should have some amount of food from turn 3. And the extra batopod.

Stefan puts his new creatures in a romantic box and sings his best remembrance of a "gettin' it on" song. Then he builds a workshop.

"It's not unusual to be put in a box with anything...
It's not unusual to be obliged to breed with anything...
But when I see you procreating with anything...
It's not unusual to see me puking - I feel like hurling..."

    Rabbit and Blobby will breed.
    Stefan will build a workshop.

Food doesn't exist, so I had you gather wood instead.

    Turn 1: + 125 wood
    Turn 2: Build a pen (-100 wood) +25 metal
    Turn 3: Find a batopod + 25 wood
    NET: +25 metal + 50 wood + 1 batopod

You were right that it was wrong, fixed it.

Brief delay as I am dealing with some things at work. I will have an update tomorrow sometime (I hope) if not, by wednesday night, then we will get back to a 48 hour schedule.

While processing the turn for giantitp, I've discovered some major flaws in several mechanics of this game, including crossbreeding, resource balance, and even the base structure of the batopod genetic code (it makes certain genes more easily gained, and more common, which is not intentional). One of the more major problems is that it is infinitely easier to get a bunch of batopods through random searching and find a powerful one than it is to get a powerful one through breeding and crossbreeding or actual genetic manipulation. Because of this, most of the game and technology is pointless.

I am going to do an analysis of the rules, and figure out the problems, and will return with a new version of this game sometime in the next few months I hope. Work is very hectic for me, so I'm not sure when I will get a chance to do this. However, I will also be building tools to automate most of this game for the future to make processing faster/automatic.

A good would maybe to make it so lab grown batopods are simply superior to wild ones.
