FUN STUFF FOR AMUSEMENT?! WITH THE ADDED PURPOSE OF IT WASTING TIME AND MAKING LIFE MORE BEARABLE?!

*Inhales deeply and poses heroically*
I was born for this.

I don't know if you're a fan of hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy...but if so, the BBC made a browser-based game of it. Quite thoroughly amusing:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/article ... ry-edition

Perhaps fun short vids of dogs being wonderful? And silly? And cute? Well, there's a website for that!
https://openpuppies.com/#1xeUYme

Perhaps you're more interested in silly images, curated by an online community? It's 1/3 inspirational, 1/3 dumb, 1/3 funny. Basically, it's what I imagine someone like Parson would enjoy.
https://iwastesomuchtime.com/

Want to know what ANY website would've looked like if it was made in the early 90s using geocities? We've gotcha covered.
http://www.wonder-tonic.com/geocitiesiz ... fworld.com

Online coloring books, I imagine, can be fun when you're bored or don't wanna have to do serious stuff like 'go to work' or 'be an adult' (Damnit, now they know how lazy and terrible and basic things like work you are, Drache graethe!)
http://hippopaint.fidsah.org/

I'm GUESSING based on Rob's humor (And what I've seen of Linda's) that puns and wordplay are a source of amusement...if so, have a series of jokes. You've heard a lot of them, I'm sure, but there's surprising gems once in a while.
https://thoughtcatalog.com/melanie-berl ... -out-loud/

There's also silly, fun games you can enjoy...I personally love Magic Pen and Magic Pen 2. Low-energy days mean silly games are ideal!
https://www.bubblebox.com/play/puzzle/975.htm

Did you know Animal Planet has kitten/puppy cams? Because it does.
http://www.animalplanet.com/tv-shows/pu ... itten-cam/

There's also a wonderful "The funniest of the internet" thread that'll make you laugh. Mostly outdated, sure...but that doesn't somehow detract from it, and only makes you remember PREVIOUS hilarity as you see stuff you once enjoyed, or get to enjoy again!
https://www.gq.com/story/100-funniest-t ... -june-2013

Reddit also aggregates this sort of stuff, occasionally. Because...well, they can.
https://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comm ... thing_you/

Or perhaps you're in for some nonsensical, probably not great reading of people collectively writing about what they think is the best of Humanity, as a whole, mostly along the lines of sci-fi and fantasy short stories? Well, there's a subreddit for that (because of course there is...there's a subreddit for literally everything)
https://www.reddit.com/r/HFY/top/

SO ANYWAY...I'd share a bunch of fun games beyond what I have so far...but I expect those are easy to find without my help. Plus I don't want to just make a list of the whole internet and claim it'll amuse. But that's a good starting point, and works for anybody who wants to waste time or amuse themselves!
Have a great day!

Did you hear about the whirlwind romance between the chemist who specialized in pigments and the daughter of the textile magnate?

Apparently, she was to dye for...

New baby nephew in the family! This is especially cool because it is the first little boy out of six kids in the newest generation.

Also, interesting fact that I just learned. My six month old daughter is in the 60th percentile in overall size, but the 99th for the size of her head. She is wearing hats for kids more than twice her age. I found that amusing.

While amusing, I have to say that Sad Cat Diary is superior.

I'm back with a heaping helping...or at least, SOME level of a helping, of fun amusement.

So, a physics simulator and silly fun thing to do online...it's older, but still delightful. Blow things up, create cascades, draw...basically, just have fun with it!
    https://dan-ball.jp/en/javagame/dust2/

Or an awesome, AWESOME video series? Well, just this one video, for now, but there's a bunch of others! Zefrank, a well known youtuber (who I believe was linked in a previous link for his 'sad cat diary' video) is BACK! He went away for like...a year, or two? And came back with the 'True Facts' series, which is some true fun facts about animals, but basically what I imagine a nature documentary narrated by David Attenborough on pain meds would sound like.
A cool one to start with? The Frog Fish!
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRP4nAGMYCY

Or straight up musical comedy? Well, Paint (Jon Cozart) is a well-known youtuber who did a wonderful little bit of silliness with imagining Disney Princesses...singing about what happened AFTER the 'happily ever after' was supposed to begin.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=diU70KshcjA

In case I didn't inundate people with silly browser games sufficiently, there's always Elephant quest, a strange but adorable game about an elephant out to retrieve his stolen hat from his friend the Wooly Mammoth...including leveling up, laser-beam pets, and platforming fun.
    https://www.silvergames.com/en/elephant-quest

Probably weird...but I don't know of anyone who can watch this guy hunt for clams without feeling just kind of good? Like, he's so positive, and happy, and chill. And all he's doing...is digging up a bunch of clams. Weirdly relaxing, IMO.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBxERHMUwrA

Perhaps another aggregation of the best ever reddit threads? Well, I'll put two links...a random one of 'amazing reddit stuff' and then a 'best of "Ask Reddit".
    https://www.complex.com/pop-culture/201 ... ts/secrets
    https://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/top/?sort=top&t=all
(Side note...I actually don't use reddit much, myself? Maybe once a month? But I like them for the use as a sort of internet curator)

A bunch of terrible puns delivered to a slowly more frustrated wife/girlfriend? Yeah, that's a good video.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7T2oje4cYxw

Feeling artistic? Try out a mouse-based art generator, you might be amazed what it'll create. It's not just drawing...it's just hard to explain, but worth trying out.
    http://weavesilk.com/

In the mood for reading? Wellllllll then Cracked is a great place to go. This is a good sampling of their most recent 'top 50', which aren't all PERFECT...but are well written, comedic, and often surprisingly insightful.
    http://www.cracked.com/top-50.html

OOORRRR funny dog, funny accent, just generally amusing silliness.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3NOYMzVC3s

For NOW, that's what popped into my mind. Anywho, even if you never check out the links, I hope it's fun and pleasant to see people care, people are on your side, and that you can TOTALLY find fun/silly/wacky things to enjoy online! :D

Well I learned the hard way that my canoe is OK for class 1 rapids, but not class 2. It's a little slow and bulky in maneuvering, and when we got to the class 2 near the end of the trip, we just couldn't get it lined up in the gate quickly enough, got pushed half sideways against the right side rock, and rolled us over as we went through, dumping us and our gear into the river. oh well, I needed to cool off anyway. Thanks to the others in solo kayaks for retrieving our stuff floating downstream ahead of us.

So, in another life, I was IT support. I was the lucky person who got to upgrade our computers from DOS 1.3 to Window 95. Yes, I’m ancient, but not quite an old hag. The changeover went surprisingly well. I’d thought.

Roughly six months after the upgrade I received two calls from one user in the span of a week. In the first call, she asked, “How do I shut down my computer? There’s no X in the upper right corner for me to click!” My first thought was wondering how she’d been shutting her computer down the past six months. I quickly pushed that thought from my mind because I already knew she wasn’t exactly tech savvy. I told her to click the Start button in the lower left corner and select Shutdown. That solved the issue for her, and she was happy.

The second call seemed a bit bizarre. “There’s an eye on my screen and it won’t go away!” At least, that’s what I heard. I was confused, “There’s an eye on your screen??? Let me come to your desk so I can see your screen.” Yes, WAY before remoting into another’s computer so you could easily see what they’re seeing. So, I made my way to her desk, looked at her screen, saw she was using Word, and managed to keep my face composed. She didn’t have an “eye” on her screen. She had an “I” on her screen. “Ah, that’s your text cursor.” I moved the mouse so that it was in the command portion of the screen. “See, the cursor changes depending on what you’re doing. When it’s in the area where you type, it’s an I. When you move it to commands, it becomes an arrow.”

I asked if she had any other questions. She didn’t, so I made the trek back to my desk, my smile growing with each step. Once I reached the safety, and relative silence, of the server room, I howled with laughter. That got me a raised eyebrow from my boss, who smiled and shook his head when I told him why I was laughing.
