    We've had 8 battles so far this game and I have been involved in all of them. Considering that I have Borders with 4/5 of the other players, I'm probably going to be seeing more combat in the near future as well. I'm not sure if that is a good thing or not.

    A couple questions:
    1. Do I get to choose the units lost to the dragon?
    2. Are the dragon and storms random events or things that other players have decided to do to me with magic spells or other trickery? (If they're something the players have done, then I'll get my revenge in due course. If they're random events, then I have somehow offended either the GM or some form of deity. (Random events determined by territory size?))

    Can we actually enforce contracts like this? (If so, what happens if 1 side incurs a penalty they cannot afford?)
    What happens when a side's treasury goes to 0 or negative?

    Regardless of the answers to my questions, I cannot accept the offer as is. My counteroffer is the same 10 turn peace agreement, but I keep all my current territory. (I don't consider Marey currently mine.)

    LTDave, whats your views on the contracts? Are you able to inforce sections of them or do you want them 100% in our field?

    That was my only current offer, but I may have another one depending on how this turn goes.

    My issue with enforcing contracts is that what happens when a player has no funds? And what happens when I interpret violations differently to how others interpret them?

    I'm not a lawyer, and I don't want complicated treaties that could be riddled with loopholes.

    On a games level, I think that if you want a "penalty clause" to exist between nations, then both sides need to put some Gold away in a trust. So, if the penalty for attacking is going to be 20 Gold, then both sides need to put 20 Gold into a trust fund held by the GM. If one side attacks the other, they lose their 20 Gold, and the other side get their Gold back (and maybe the other players as well).

    On a related note, I have orders from 4 of the 6 players. I've been remiss in replying to a player's question, so the next set of orders should not be too far away.

    I hope to process in about 12 hours. Sorry for the inconwenience.
