Sorry - reality intervened again. I hope to process tonight - so about 14 hours.

    Cheers

All good. We know how reality is. Double good that you're not dead. :P

I do have some suggestions for scrolls:

    Skeletonize (croakamancy)
The caster may cast this at the end of a single battle to raise all croaked warriors from both sides as loyal Skeletons (1 Hit, 1 Combat, 1 Defense, 3 Move) Skeletons cost no supply.

    Yodel (rhymomancy)
The caster may cast a single spell at range on another hex up to 2 hexes distant.

    Hat Trick (hat magic)
The caster may send or receive a single small item (such as a scroll) instantly over any distance to or from any other character (even a character of another side, if that character is willing)

    Dojo (shockamancy(?))
The Caster may construct a Dojo in a city, cost 1 schmucker - Warlords that spend an entire turn in a city containing a Dojo gain +1 XP per turn {or every other turn, I'm not clear on how much XP is needed to level up}.

    Casino (carnymancy)
The caster may construct a Casino in a city, cost 1 schmucker - once per turn, the ruler may choose to bet any number of schmuckers at the casino. 1d8 is rolled to determine the payout: 1-6:x0, 6:x1, 7:x2, 8:x4

    Graveyard (croakamancy)
The caster may construct a Graveyard in a city, cost 1 schmucker - for every character that is croaked in the service of the side, 1 tombstone pops in the graveyard. On the popping of every third tombstone, a new extra character is popped in the city containing the graveyard.

    Watchtower (lookamancy)
The caster may construct a watchtower in a city, cost 1 schmucker - the watchtower increases the scouting range of that city to 3.

    Barracks (dirtamancy)
The caster may construct a barracks in a city, cost 1 schmucker - the barracks pops 1 warrior class unit every 2 turns)

    Gutenberg (dittomancy)
The caster may, for a cost of 3 schmuckers, duplicate a single scroll in the same hex.

    Spore (Flower Power)
The caster may modify the terrain type of the hex they occupy. A plains, mushroom or heavy mushroom hex may be transformed into a plains, mushroom or heavy mushroom hex. Other terrain types or City or resource hexes cannot be targeted. There is a 1/6 chance per turn that the transformed hex will revert to its original type.

    Decoy Dummy (Foolamancy)
The Caster may create up to 3 immobile and permanent dummy units or characters (in any combination) in the hex. Alternatively the Caster may create 1 dummy building in the hex. These dummies appear to enemy scout reports as the real deal. The dummies are dispelled if enemy units enter the hex, and can be dispelled at any time on the will of the ruler.

Here is the map at the start of turn 9.

    In the interests of:
    1. My sanity
    2. The sanity of certain players
    3. A certain sense of "that ain't right"
I'm going to take us to a place of phasing the turns - things are getting quite complicated in some ways, and the players later in the turn sequence are having to rely a lot on guesswork and put in a whole heap of if/then statements to make their orders work. This must frustrate them, and it certainly frustrates me.

So, since we have some pretty clear conflicts errupting, we'll go to 2 phases:
    1st Phase
    Jakkala
    Data-Ninja
    Updog

    2nd Phase
    Side of Bacon
    Elegant Simplicity

I will only send the 1st phase orders today.

If you plan on attacking someone in the same phase as you, let me know early-ish so I can let you know if that will put you into a different phase.

Please check in your orders that:
    1. Level 1 cities only pop units on even numbered turns (even if you just captured it the turn before)
    2. Level 2 cities pop units every turn
    3. That you are not in violation of Supply rules, and if you are, that you pay the appropriate penalty in your finance orders before you pay for anything else.
    4. That you have scouting reports on other power units in hexes adjacent to your units at the start of your turn

    Thanks!

I recently realised that I have not put up new scrolls - I will do so once I have computer access.

Well, Darik, when you figure you make a fig out of u and re.

I'm wondering how people would feel about another slightly radical idea:

Let's stop using PMs, and go to Edupads for each side.

Since I don't really need an excel sheet for sides (no maintenance, only a few small sums (income, spending, total available to spend), I could really move the whole thing to a word doc - the only thing I would have to change would be experience, and I guess I can share with people the secrets of that dark art.

And if I could do it all on a word doc rather than an excel sheet, why not just do it on an Edupad?

Players could write out orders, and then modify their own "End of Turn" location list, and I could simply update the map and confirm the units are where the player claims they are.

    Thoughts?

    I'd be up for it!

I'll probably still write my full orders in a word document, before pasting them into the edupad, so I think there'd be no real change to my workflow. The edupad would presumably make it easier to ask questions, or just chat about the game, so that's a plus. Sure!

    Yeah, seems fine.

One question... why are you stopping the duplication of "Gutenburg"? All you do is stay at the exact same place, only with 3 less shmuckers. (That would really put the 'shmuck' in 'shmucker'.)

I am good with whatever works. I try to use documents to keep track of my turns anyways.
