The Great and the Merciful, Peace be upon ...

What in all the names of ... wow.

I honestly did not expect something like this, but yeah, hooray for Sc- I mean Sylvia Lazarus.

Thank you kindly. Ominous choice, though, with Sylvia Plath as patron.

Well, my mission here is done.

    Spoiler: show
    Nah, :)

About time they put a name to that red headed warrior we have all come to know from her many excellent picts. My favorite ones I listed below.

Here on pg 137 and Here on pg 132

Lady Sylvia Lazarus will surely play a notable role in the events to come, more so than as a poet atleast :)

She's died twice and come back? What was the first time - as Sylvia Plath? Is Erfworld recycling Earth people? Some sort of 'To your scattered bodies go' (P J Farmer) thing with amnesia for all but poets?

Very cool - a nicely done tribute.

Perhaps after the battle, Ansom will be seen saying "you do not do . . . "

Excellent update. I know I'll be coming back to read this one a few times. I suspect people will be picking the poem over for portents for some time to come.

It's poetry. It tells you whatever you want to hear.

    Well.

    Red got named.

    Not Red.

So what's in that poem about "This is Number Three?" Is this some how L. Lazarus's third life? That's how I read it initially, although now I'm not sure. There's other references to numbers in there. "The first time it happened I was One." What's with the capitals? Maybe it's referring to L. Lazarus's level. "The first time I fought I was level One." Hmm, could be, but then I don't get the reference to Three. A past battle maybe, not the current one?

Oh and it appears L. Lazarus was level 5 at GK, since she is Six now and was "close to leveling" a few panels ago. Same level as Webnar, actually.

Scarlet got named! She will rule Erfworld! Anyway, besides the great poem, this goes a bit further into the workings of the mind of a decrypted (warlord).

Didn't read this before I posted, we obviously saw the same things in the poem. I like your reasoning too, could be true. Maybe not "recycling Earth people" but basing their personalities on Earth people. Just like all the puns are based on Earth puns too.

A link would be nice with that, but I think you're wrong.

Judging by Lady Sylvia Lazarus' patron, she's walking with a bulls-eye on her. Next update, she will give her life by absorbing a lethal blow meant for Wanda. Or Jack; I don't very much like Wanda.

Scarlet has a name, and that name is made of awesome.

    Nice poem, too.

So that's Scarlet's name? Course Scarlet is still gonna stick around most likely.

I still think she's Parson from the future.
Also, my first thought was that her name is a reference to Lazarus Long.

It sounds like she once used to be part of a Carnemancy act where she "died" every day and was brought back to life before the crowd.
