For some reason I never read this story, was probably intimidated by the backlog of posts. But after talking with you a lot more through Dave's game I decided to give your story a shot. And man, am I glad I did. The story is very well written and engaging. You do an excellent job of giving the reader a good reason to connect with every character. Just a top notch read. Also, like many of the fanfic here, you do an excellent job of "expanding" the rules of Erfworld. I hope Rob reads your story when he starts fleshing out more details about the game.

 Glad you enjoyed it. I just hope my interpretations of tge schools of magic come close to what will show up in the comic (carnymancy i got lucky on)

Also, might i recommend Imperial Destiny (see sig). Its scifi but might be entertaining

I really hope actual Changeamancy ends up like you describe it. Ever since Rob made that chane that said items were made by Changeamancers, everyone just assumes that's all they do. Your description of it is awesome and the way you have the Doctor describes the differences between Change and Carny is awesome.

Another great update. I've noticed that your corner of Erfworld seems to have a fair number of mechanical type units, whereas I don't think we've seen any in the comic proper. Is that intentional? Does this take place in a later time period that's more "industrial"?

I figure there's no problem with mechanical units. We have golems, that's pretty much the same thing, and we've seen siege engines before.

I have no problem with the decision, just wondering if it was a conscious choice to show a more industrial Erf.

Of course now I have to wonder, do the ICEY's have pilots?

I needed a unit for the job and they fit. They were designed/made by a changeamancer linking with a retconjurer, so pretty much anything is possible (and GroundRunner's craft and golem were made by unknown means, so they could just be simple golems or much more).

We also know that it is possible to combine living pilots with golems, as shown by the LekDa. The ICEY 130 is a similar concept, it has a pilot and gunner, typically popped with the vehicle, but they can be replaced for various reasons.

Another great update. I love Carnymancy, as a rule, and Tyrin's foe is developing into a great character. The old hole on the wall trick made me laugh.

I have great things planned for him. After all, He Who Must Not Be Named did great things....terrible things, but great things...

    Good "ending" :)

Now just a wrap-up is enough and you can publish it ^_^

Or you can use soap tv-shows techniques and have the villain "escape" in some fashion, or the deletionist cult appear in masse.
Well, for me, "the longer, the more entertainment" ^_^

this is an ending, but it isn't the ending.

    There are other deletionists.

Lady Amex is out there somewhere, perhaps missing Regus perhaps wanting to kill this Tyrin guy.

Espagnia and Ice Vale are still at war, and they still have golem foundries. Then there is StarRunner and the Jade Eyes.

Not to mention the LekDa the Doctor and Melody.

I realize I'm a couple years late to the start of this saga, but I'm really glad that didn't stop me from reading it. I love your style, your characters, and your world. With any fanfic, the world is 99% the original artist's creation, but it still feels like you managed to carve out a piece that's all your own. This reads like a backer-story, just with more references, drama, and world-expansion than we're used to.

I'm really glad you're still updating this. Even if you decide it's finished someday, I hope that won't stop you from writing a Jade Eye or Doctor spin-off. Either way, don't stop writing.

I have decided on an ending that will wrap up a lot of the loose ends of this story, and tie it a little closer into the general erf setting. I just have to get there first.

Also big thanks to Salvage who has given me oh so many Shmuckers. Means I can get a dwagon Plushie very soon.

Just read throught everything. It feels very Erfy... except for the references to Death and Dying, rather then being Croaked, and all the talk of Bleeding. But considering we have a retconjurer walking around, this could be before the establishment of the cutesy language lock and other things.
