Just throwing this out there.
700 Cloth Golems?
I'm thinking an army of plushy Kyubey's/Incubators
It just suits Charlie so well.

Charlie may assume that the shoes went back to Kansas with Judy.

We will have several hundred dwagons show up on your door if you don't. Also TGMtTA are now offering a large number of free thinkagrams to all sides." Then after Charlie runs out of cash since no merc work, and no comm work, 1000 dwagons show up at his capital and bomb the cwap in to it.

best idea in a long time.

Parson unfortunately has no experience with 'legitimate' peace negotiations.

BUT and APB "bring out your dead" paying a small amount of cash for any dead body delivered ... croaked bodies can even be sent easily via the magic kingdom from anywhere on erf. Match Carlie's world spanning 4G network with a equally large network of 'peace offers paid in bodies' means they could march on Charlie with not 6 to one against, but 20 to one for. Meat grinder be damned if you're collecting all the croaked from all the places.

Bonus for Charlie's fliers of course.

I'm not sure if this should be a seperate thread but what about the city of Charlescomm itself?

Firstly, like TV, ground assault is impractical due to the mountains which is probably why Charlie has AA guns in the shot at the end of book 2.

Secondly, whatever is on 40, especially near the portal room, can be expected to be seen and possibly used by neutral casters. Given that the area around the portal is a casino, I suspect it's a hustle for free casters. Since you've got to make it seem like they're coming out on top, I suspect they're a Luckamancy item; trading lucky Numbers a unit has for schmuckers or rands.

Thirdly is the 'Dish. I don't think the 'Dish is naturally that powerful, but rather had Charlie optimize the hell out of it. Max size, Shocking and possibly the positioning of the 'Dish itself. It could very well be that Charlescomm tower is the optimal point for Thinkamancy, being a point of resonance for more frequencies than anywhere else in Erfworld. Moving the 'Dish lost him power, partly from moving out of resonance and partly from being Unshocked.

Any other thoughts? Is it worth having a dedicated City speculation thread?

Are AA guns big enough that using them isn't really feasible without electricity? It might be that a lot of their functionality is shot, now that the portal power source is gone.

EDIT: Yea, I meant aiming the things, not firing.

I'm fairly sure that the AA guns wouldn't require power since the rocket launcher and guns didn't. Principle of the AA is the same as the rocket launcher but explode based on distance traveled or target proximity (for the smarter version) rather than contact.

Assuming that they do, do they draw power from the Portal Column? I thought they drew shockamancy from the tower. Given that these are city defenses, you've got to imagine that Charlie had contingencies for that. His biggest concern seemed to be dirtamancer taking out the power, so I wouldn't be surprised if some systems had auxiliary power or the capacity to accept auxiliary, like shockamancy direct from an Archon.

I assume he meant to rotate and aim the machine itself. The weapon is too huge to hand aim.

Early AA guns were adjusted manually, but these do seem to be on some kind of rotating platform. Again, I still think it's a contingency that charlie would plan for and have some kind of local shockmancy reserve. Be it batteries or the Archons themselves.

They could still be turned manually. Charlsecomm does have a lot of dolls.

And how do we know the AA guns aren't dolls?

If that's the case then they're mounts because we see Archons on them. Is it the actual comic or Etherium where they say that Dolls and clothes are the same thing, it's just a matter of how much Motion you give it?

I wonder if the Archons can create guns? Dollamancy is an Archon Special...If Charlie can link with them and they're only copying a pattern then Claud wasn't overly important at this point and more of a threat than an asset.
