http://archives.erfworld.com/Book%201/15 On page 15 of book 1, Parson has saved a marshmallow Peep until July for it to become optimally stale. I like them crispy too, so this year I saved a Peep in the fridge until today to see whether it was even better crunchy. Much to my surprise, it's chewy, but actually still fairly soft! The plastic Easter egg it was hiding in must be airtight!

Has anyone else tried saving a Peep for July and gotten it to be simultaneously crunchy and delicious? How do you store it to achieve that?

It actually takes like a year to become crunchy. There was a fan theory that maybe Parson is a little bit crazy, and was lying to his friend to hide how obsessive about food he really was.

Maybe how long it takes depends on your environment - temperature and humidity and all that.
