So, the arkendish seems to be a satellite-receiver shaped object that lets you muck with communications, and control archons.

The arkenhammer is a hammer shaped object that lets you break things up, and control dragons.

The arkenpliers is a plyer shaped object that lets you ..., and control undead.

Maybe the real power of the pliers is that it lets you bend the rules? After all, what do you use pliers for?

The Arkenpliers are an incredibly powerful artifact with vast Croakamancy abilities, and you can also use them to grab things.

    the hammer also creates pigeons!

and if it is a pliers.... it probably can also cut things.

The Plyers have actually seemed rather limited so far when you think about it. Croakamancy, Thinkamancy and Turnamancer but it's all pretty much the same 'spell'.
