Except the eyeBook works through subvocalization, not typing.

If you look at the illustration before the first Klog (http://www.erfworld.com/book-1-archive/?px=%2F037a.jpg), Parson appears to be using the Eyebook like a traditional laptop with one of the open "pages" acting as a keyboard and the other as a screen. Presumably, this is how he composes the Klog entries. One would image things like formatting and adding illustration would be easier to build with a keyboard than trying to subvocalize html.
