It's an idea that just came to me this morning. Charlie has his extra-universe channels. He also has more resources at his disposal than anyone else. Would it at all be possible for him to send one of his own agents to Stupidworld? Someone trusted, who can hide well. But not a top archon as he still need them to manage his systems. Maybe someone like Jojo.

If there has to be a sojourn in Stupidworld, I'd much rather it be a native Erfworlder than Parson. I think it would both be much more interesting and offer better opportunities for character growth.

That would be interesting. I'd be curious to see someone like Sizemore's reaction to Earth.

Of course, perhaps the shoes will come back on their own without needing anyone to bring them.

Which also brings up the possibility that the 'shoes never left. They sent Judy home, but did they necessarily go with her? They could have immediately appeared in ruins or something when she used them.

We don't even know for sure that Judy left Erfworld. After seeing what happened to Parson when he was banished, maybe Judy also ended up elsewhere in Erfworld.

True. We assume that she left, since Olive became Overlord as soon as Judy "poofed", but that's certainly no guarantee.

I don't doubt that she left. I doubt that the 'shoes left with her.

Let's assume that Parson's "banishment" played out exactly the same way that Judy's did: Parson fell from the top of the hex, so, Judy probably did, too. Parson was caught by Jed, but, Judy, it's safe to say, was not. So, Judy died.

Now, you'll say, "If we look at the scale of Jed and compare the perspective from the first frame of Parson's fall, we can see that he was X meters in the air, meaning that he and Judy would have fallen X meters and, even at terminal velocity, it would take Y seconds for them to die..." You're really smart, after all, and doing all that math is really impressive.
But, time functions differently in different hexes. Actions and information happens as it's relevant. Olive became Overlord immediately, because nothing relevant would have happened in her hex during the time Judy fell until Olive was Overlord, so, Judy's falling time only happened in Judy's hex.

Moral of the Story: Judy became a smear wearing ruby slippers.

Boy, do you have the wrong girl!

I was content with "So, Judy died." All that math stuff is waaaay over my head, much like Parson was when he fell... and fell... and fell... and...

However, (isn't there always a "however"?) since the Ruby Slippers worked differently than the scroll of GTFO (in theory), there's no reason to believe Judy died from a fall, either.

I doubt that, because Charlie would probably make it a top priority to retrieve the item used to assassinate the previous Arkendish wielder.
Unless there's already a new attuned Shoes wearer, and all of Charlie's obsessive powergaming and money hoarding is aimed at finding a way to defeat them.

The latest update confirms that Parson almost left and so Judy did leave. And since Parson didn't leave, he couldn't have brought back the 'shoes (unless Fate gave them to him on his way back). So they are most definitely in Erfworld right now, as there looks to be no other way to bring them back from Stupidworld. Just a question of where.

Assuming that Judy spawned in mid-air apon arriving in Stupidworld. She could always walk towards the ground, to avoid such crash landings.

If it only takes a small handful of determined casters to retrieve a perfect warlord from an alternate dimension, complete with powerful magic items/artifacts, why do we think it would be so difficult to retrieve a single item, even a titanic one? Individual casters already pull magic items from some other place; they even hold debates on where that other place might be. If a Hat Magician can pull a rabbit out of his hat, why couldn't he make a scroll boosted by Findamancy, a little Fate, and good link? They would even have a clearer idea of what to focus on during the cast and no small angry men shouting about size.

I guess one difference is that Parson wanted to be found, and the 'shoes might not.

    ...yet.

I agree with the latest update confirming what you said.

But! There's no rule that says the 'shoes are in Erfworld. Rob Balder framed Judy's Exodus to be a tragic tale, but she went home, where she wanted to be, right? Where's the tragedy? I think the tragedy is that Erfworld lost an Arkentool.

    Something everybody fail to mention:
the shoes don't have to come back. It will suit the narrative, but it isn't a definitive thing.

Well, the Arkentools are (supposedly) Fated to be reunited, but that could take many forms.
My favorite is that they all end up together in Stupidworld, but it could also mean that they'll all be united in annihilation, that the Titans will personally reclaim their lost tools and reshelve them in the Great Toolshed, that someone will bring back the Shoes a million turns from now when none of our protagonists are still around, etc.
Stanley and maybe Wanda are the only ones who think that the unification of the Arkentools is happening soon, and it's unclear whether there's any basis for that.

That's a theory I'd never considered, but sure will from now on! It might even take a bit of Carny, or perhaps Turnamancy, to counteract the "wanting" requirement.

Not quite on-topic, but I love the idea of "turning" an item. Maybe a turned item wouldn't work for you anymore, or respond to your attempts to control/resize it. Or maybe lock up.

Or maybe it's another path to attuning. Imagine a side with a Turnamancer re-attuning the 'hammer or 'shoes to whomever was needed out in the field that day. The artifact would become much more valuable than the attuned. (More than it is anyway, but you wouldn't have downtime waiting for another attuned to come along.)
